Jonah broke his arm!
Uh oh. When we picked Jonah up from Farm camp on Wednesday, he had just fallen off the monkey bars and said that his arm hurt. It was his first time that he even tried the monkey bars. While he wasn't making too much of a fuss, he was convinced that something was wrong. I took him to the hospital and doubted anything serious almost the whole time. But then the doctor came in and said, 'Broken!!' He has a buckle fracture in his right radius bone near his wrist. Despite the location of the fracture, he has to have a full cast. Apparently all children are given a full arm cast because otherwise they are certain to wiggle out of it. He has to wear it for four weeks!! Maybe we can get the queen to sign his cast when we're in England.

Oh, but the unbearable, unreachable itchiness is almost too hard to witness!!
Jeannette, Congratulations on getting medical attention for Jonah even when you weren't sure he needed it! When Charlotte was 2, she slipped in the living room and held her arm very strangely afterwards. This was on a Monday night and we got her to bed with difficulty because she was clearly having quite a bit of pain. On THURSDAY, I finally took her to the doctor to discover that she had a fracture similar to Jonah's. I felt like such a bad mother, but the orthopedist assured me that the same thing had happened with another orthopedist in the practice! I'm sorry about Jonah's itchiness, but now he'll be able to say he's had a cast, and maybe it will still be on when he goes back to school! Have a great trip in August!
what a brave and stoic jonah! i am also jealous that SOME PEOPLE get to sign his cast but i don't!! i can feel for him with the itchiness under the cast. i think i broke something and had a cast in a previous life (cause it's never happened in this one).
so happy to know that the cast came off before the trip to england ! Jonah is such a stoic!
